Just 25 minutes away from Sarigerme is a village called Akkoprü. This village is situated in the wilds of Turkey on the Dalaman river, being the best river for white water rafting in Southern Turkey. The river flows all year round, being at its most challenging in the spring time, and consists of rapid, then pool, rapid, then pool and so on; the rapids being of grades 3 and 4; the pools allowing plenty of time to relax, swim, and having a stop for eating a special lunch.

The river is suitable and exciting for beginners to intermediate rafters and the whole days emphasis is on having as much fun as possible. Be prepared to get very wet, have your stomach in your mouth, and enjoy the thrill of a day of teamwork in getting your raft down the river back to the village. The river current and the rapids may be strong and exciting, but they are surprisingly calming.
